How does it work?

Kingston UK’s Dispensation for expenses:

Kingston UK has negotiated a ‘Dispensation’ with HMRC, which allows us to issue ‘Legitimate Business Expenses’ incurred wholly and exclusively in the performance of the contractor/freelancer’s duties, free from tax and National Insurance contributions (NICs).

Examples of expenses include:

  • Travel (fares, mileage)
  • Accommodation
  • Food (breakfast, lunch, dinner)

For more information on our Business Expense Policy, please contact us.

What we’ll do for you:

The benefits of contracting/freelancing under our umbrella include:

  • H M Revenue & Customs (HMRC) approved way of working
  • Next to no administration - just send us your completed expense claim form each week and we will take care of the rest.
  • Money paid directly into your account by BACS the same day we receive it - no delay (often in your account the same day via fast track banking)
  • Professional indemnity insurance
  • Public liability insurance
  • Employers’ liability insurance
  • Financial references
  • No need for accountants
  • Weekly/monthly pay slips sent to your door
  • An end of year P60 or leaver’s P45
  • No set-up or termination fees

Referrals:

We pay our contractors a referral fee of £50 for every person they refer to us that results in that person taking up our employment benefits services for a period of six weeks with no gap.

Holiday entitlement

As a contractor employed under the umbrella of Kingston UK Ltd., you will have holiday entitlement.

Holiday pay is paid out at minimum wage and will be taken from your retainer fund.

For more information on holiday entitlement under Kingston UK, please contact us.

Sick pay:

Contractors or freelancers working under the umbrella of Kingston UK are entitled to claim statutory sick pay after three consecutive days of illness.

Statutory sick pay is paid out after the first three days, calculated on a daily basis. The contractor/freelancer must supply a sick note signed by their doctor or self-certificate with a SC2 form to receive any sick pay.

A contractor/freelancer who is off sick can also ask for money from their retainer fund if they wish.
